My Story

Paul had his stroke whilst driving a van doing deliveries for the company he worked for. It was a miracle he wasn't killed. He drove back to his depot as the stroke was developing, and his colleagues called 999. Luckily he got to hospital within four hours and was given a clot busting drug. Unluckily it didn't work and the clot still sits there in the base of his brain. One year on and he is managing to walk with a stick and is gradually gaining some use of his left arm.
Stroke is either a killer or a life changer. Either way it devastating, and that is why I've decided to do the City to Surf 14 km run/walk and try to raise some money for The Stroke Foundation.

Please help me reach my target of $1,800

In 2018 there will be almost 56,000 new and recurrent strokes, that is one stroke every 9 minutes.
Stroke is one of Australia's biggest killers and a leading cause of disability. It kills more women than breast cancer and more men than prostate cancer.
With your support the Stroke Foundation will partner with the community to raise awareness and work to prevent, treat and beat stroke.
