My Story

I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes just after my 8th birthday last year. I've created this page because I want to make a difference by raising money for JDRF Australia as part of my participation in The 2018 Sun-Herald City2Surf. Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. The more people that know about JDRF Australia, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!

Blob

Today, there will be 6 Australians newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. At the moment, this means a lifetime of insulin injections or infusion to stay alive, plus regular painful finger pricks and careful blood glucose management. The disease can strike anyone at any time, and currently affects more than 120,000 Australians.

JDRF is the leading global organisation funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. Our mission is to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications.

We invite you to join Team Cure Diabetes to help raise money for T1D research and make a difference to the 2.4 million Australians who have a close friend or family member with type 1 diabetes, so please make your run count and click ‘Join Team’.
